Zhanjiang Zhongyue Energy Co., Ltd. has a total installed capacity of 1260MW, with two 630MW domestically produced subcritical coal-fired power generation units. In 2018, the annual operating hours of Unit #1 were 3089.75h, and the annual operating hours of Unit #2 were 4424.03h. The average annual power generation utilization hours for the entire plant were approximately 3756.89h. In 2018, unit #1 had an annual utilization rate of 3089.75 hours, and unit #2 had an annual utilization rate of 4424.03 hours. The average annual power generation utilization hours for the entire plant was approximately 3756.89 hours. This project plans to install a 21 MW/10.5 MWh electrochemical energy storage system on the side of units #1 and #2 of Zhanjiang Zhongyue Energy Co., Ltd., using lithium iron phosphate battery technology. This system will cooperate with the generating units to carry out grid AGC frequency regulation services. When jointly regulating frequency, the maximum output of the energy storage auxiliary frequency regulation device can be output according to the rated power of the energy storage system. The energy storage auxiliary frequency regulation device in this project adopts a one-to-two configuration, that is, one set of energy storage system is set up and connected to units #1 and #2 respectively. According to the operational needs of the units, the energy storage auxiliary frequency regulation device can switch between units #1 and #2 to provide auxiliary frequency regulation services.
Zhanjiang Dazhu Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd. undertook this project, commissioning Guangdong Huimiao Electric Co., Ltd. to manufacture two high-voltage cabinet AGC energy storage auxiliary frequency regulation systems. After a month of research, technical communication, manufacturing, and testing, we successfully loaded and shipped the systems on December 14, 2020. This marks a further maturation of our technology in high-voltage cabinet energy storage projects.
